QUEENSLAND’S TAYLOR MACDONALD TAKES THREE SHOT LEAD AT HALFWAY IN RIVERSDALE CUP
Young Queensland amateur golfer,Taylor Macdonald, has taken a three shot lead going into the third round of the Riversdale Cup tournament ( in Melbourne).
Macdonald, from the Redcliffe Golf Club, was one of the few golfers to take on the challenging layout on day two with a four-under round of 68.
He heads a quartet of top amateurs including first round leader Cameron John from Commonwealth Golf Club and Lucas Herbert, also from Commonwealth.
Tournament favourite and last year’s winner of the Cup, Ryan Ruffels, is well back on five- over 149 while the current Australian amateur champion, Cameron Davis, is on four-over. Both face an uphill battle to catch Macdonald.
Woodland’s Julienne Soo, on three-over, leads the field in the women’s event, which is being played in conjunction with the men.
