Our club is witnessing a rising star of the golfing world during this weekend?s Riversdale Cup.
Members can be part of the action by being there on Sunday to see if 18-year-old Jake Higginbottom, from The Australian Club in Sydney, can perform in the final round as emphatically as he has for the first three.
Higginbottom, after a first round 64 gave him a four shot lead, followed up with a 68 to stretch his overall lead to five and a half-way score of 12-under.
Members who have seen him in action during the first three rounds say that he has more raw talent than any amateur they have seen at the Riversdale Cup in the past 25 years.
That includes such names as Baddeley, Allenby, Barnes and Sims!
So if you want to see the future face of golf in Australia, be there for the final round of the men?s Riversdale Cup.
And don?t forget that next week when the women take to the course, the feature player will be the 14-year-old New Zealander, Lydia Ko, leading amateur in the Australian Women?s Open and winner of the NSW Womens Open.
Theres a feast of golf at Riversdale at the moment and you won’t want to miss it.
